Berkeley Offers Three Types Of Account
Online Account
Here, customers choose the type of trading platform they require. A Berkeley broker will help you choose the platform most suitable to your needs and will be available to give instruction on its use. Customers will have a dedicated user name and password to protect their account and orders may be placed over the telephone if access to the account is not possible for technical or other reasons. All such accounts are accepted on an execution only basis.

Advisory Account
This account is aimed at traders who require help and information in running their positions; it is not a managed account. It may be, such traders do not wish to trade online, need a professional with whom they can discuss their ideas, or are new to the market and need a guiding hand. All such accounts will be handled over the telephone or by email. |
Execution Only Account
If you wish to place orders over the telephone, rather than using an online trading platform, then this account will give you access to all Berkeley services. Market information may be requested but advice will not be given. It is suggested that such account holders are experienced and knowledgeable concerning market practice. |
Bullion Trading
Berkeley has been involved in the Bullion market for many years; it is able to offer a full service with comprehensive coverage of gold, silver, platinum and palladium during both London and New York trading times. Trades may be taken on a Spot, or Forward basis up to 90 days in advance. Customers may hold physical Bullion on their account and if required it may be used for collateral against further purchases made in the market. Bullion trading can be transacted on a margin or deposit basis and gearing may be offered up to 40x the initial investment.
Bullion trading is one way for investors to profit from precious metals but traders may also use established futures and options exchanges, in which case you can use one of the Berkeley On-line trading platforms to access electronically traded contracts. |
CFD's
Contracts for differences “ CFD's” are the simplest way to trade equity price movements, here the trader can go long or short and the profit or loss is settled at the difference between the two prices at which you have bought and sold. Dividends are paid to those who hold a long position and are paid for by the short holder. CFD's may be traded on most equities quoted on the major exchanges and the margin or deposit is from 10% giving up to 10x gearing. Currently Berkeley offer a telephone only service in CFD's but a new online platform service will be available soon. |
